Beyond Racism

Just One Point

One would like to ask, why do celebrities and media are touchy about racial discrimination? How do they manage to turn blind eye to the escalating brutal caste discrimination in India? Take for instance, Mr Amitabh Bachan who turned down a doctoral decoration of Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane,Australia in order to protest the racial attacks on the Indian students. Has he sacrificed any honour or award conferred on him by the government of India in the protest against caste discrimination and practice of untouchability? Why doesn’t Mr.Bachan return all civil hours of Government of India in protest of atrocities of upper castes over dalits?

This preference for racial discrimination stems from upper caste consciousness since racially abused Indian citizens are mostly of higher class and upper caste. Isn’t this a fair enough indication that the celebrity pursuit for equality and justice is limited to upper caste/class while conveniently ignoring the rights of the millions of vulnerable dalits and tribes in India? A free egalitarian society can only be achieved by abandoning prejudiced opinion, having a perspective from below and genuine actions for an equal, accommodative civilization.

Five stars for this post. Good one.

Too bad, that the majority(who are not even upper caste/class) fall for the word of these celluloid heros than for reality.
