Cursed!

Since police and media in Kerala are hand in glove one can trust the front page story published by Mathrubhumi Daily today(Oct 30,09): Policemen at Poochakal police station in Alapuzha district have been going through various calamities since the new station building was inaugurated two years ago; deaths, ill health, transfers…so the policemen unanimously decided to consult an astrologer. Apart from the usual problems with the structural design and all the key sacred diagnosis was that the government land on which the new station has been constructed was owned by brahmins in the past and the heat and pain of their living descendants hover over it.

If the non-brahmin citizens of Kerala (not all, only the ‘real’ citizens) bear in mind that legend regarding the origin of Kerala – land cleared from the sea by Parashuraman and that he donated it to brahmins – they need not squander anything on astrologers to identify the curse that has landed them in the awful mess.
